Within the courtyard of the 17th Century coach house of the Lydney Park Estate there are studios and workshops all open to the public.

Strongly attracted to Taurus because of the congenial atmosphere he found here, after many years on the Craft Fair circuit Bob opened his studio at Taurus.  Bob found our locality and ability to offer a permanent site a great advantage together with the emphasis he found on art and healthy living, also influential was virtue he found in the Camphill concern for others.

Bob runs a thriving business that includes a working studio for the framing needs of many types of artwork - paintings, photographs, prints as well as certificates.  The merits of Bob’s business lie in his emphasis on simplicity and a competitively priced service at a reasonable cost.  ‘Picture Cards’ evolved from an interest in collecting cigarette cards, Bob has an extensive collection of cigarette and collectors cards on display and can also turn your own cards into “Card Pictures”, a service he says that is not widely available.

Bob can be contacted at his studio on 07770583200 or at home on 01594 510445.

The Forest Soap & Candle Factory is the result of two local businesses combining to produce a beautiful & aromatic workshop.

Totally Natural” handmade Candles using plant wax for its cleaner & longer burning properties.  The colours of our candles come from using natural dyes such as Paprika extract and Ochre pigment mined from local caves.  They are then fragranced with pure Essential Oils, to provide a therapeutic benefit as well as a which give a subtle fragrance to your home.

Many of the candles are then finished with natural petals, rose, lavender and chamomile to make an extra special gift.
The range of “Foodie candles” use coffee beans, cocoa powder and gel wax champagne & wine glasses to add a quirky character to the candles.

We have a huge range of small, medium and large candles, including “everlasting candles” that make great gifts for someone special!
Unique and personalised candles can be made on request to allow for that extra special wedding, anniversary or congratulations gift.

Les has been working with stained glass for close to 20 years and has based his studio at Taurus Crafts for the past six years.  While the effect of light on stained glass has interested artists for centuries, Les became interested in the traditional methods of working with stained glass using a variety of glass from all over the world.  Alongside lead came his work has also developed a contemporary style using Copper.

Les created the stained glass windows found in the Gift Shop and also the fused glass windows in our Function room.  Having recently refurbished his studio you will find a selection of contemporary and abstract decorative artworks including mirrors and jewellery - where inspiration, says Les, has been the key.

Commissions are regularly undertaken as Les specializes in mirrors, lamps, screens and windows alongside a range of smaller items.
