Tyrells Crisps |
Crisps | Will’s Story.. ‘I grew up here at Tyrrells Court, and feel very lucky to have been brought up in this beautiful part of Herefordshire. I have been farming potatoes here at Tyrrells Court for the last twenty years. Most of the potatoes I grew I supplied to supermarkets, which often left me feeling detached – without any feedback or thanks from my end customers. With the continual price pressure from the supermarkets, I realised I had to change direction. I wanted to remain in farming, and produce a great tasting product that we could make out of our potatoes.’ And the rest is history—a wide range of range of potato and vegetable crisps and now a VODKA |

Albet i Noya Vineyard |
Wine | The Albet i Noya estate vines cover the western slopes of the Ordal mountain range , in the Penedes region. The vineyard follows the curves of the terrain in stepped terraces or on slopes exposed to the midday sun. Of the 101 hectares they control, 76 are given over exclusively to the cultivation of vines. The vineyard grows organically using modern techniques and is beginning to integrate biodynamic principles into the management of the vineyard. But they also have an interest in rediscovering local traditional varieties of grape. Trying to stem the tied of the ever present Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, to make more interesting distinctive wines. Whilst the Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada were the varieties traditionally planted in the Penedès region, They were lost at the end of the 19th century with the Philloxera crisis. The Albet i Noya family started working with these traditional varieties in the early eighties. Their interest in traditional varieties continues with an ambitious project to test grape varieties lost to modern wine making but found growing in abandoned vineyards, They are test growing, making wine from and trialling wines to use these heritage grapes. |
